India 1948 Inauguration Of India-UK Air Service 12 Anna
On 8th June, 1948, an Air-India International L-749 Constellation, Malabar Princess inagurated a weekly service between Bombay and London. The Postal authorities in India celebrated this occassion by issuing a special commemorative stamp. The stamps were printed in limited quantities and were valid only for one day, and on one plane journey – from Bombay to London via Cairo and Geneva.
