Privacy Policy
What this site collects, why, and how long it is kept. Very little, is the short answer.

Section 1
Who is responsible
Philately Life is run by Purnendu Singh from Pune, India. It is a personal, non-commercial site. Any personal information you give it is handled by one person — me — and nobody else.
Section 2
What is collected
When you write. The name, email address and message you put in the contact form or send by email.
When you comment. The name and address you supply with a comment, and the comment itself.
Automatically. Standard server logs kept by the hosting provider — IP address, browser, pages requested, time of request — as any web server records.
There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no payment of any kind, so no passwords or financial details are ever collected.
Section 3
Cookies and analytics
The site uses a small number of cookies — some set by WordPress to make pages work, and some by Google Analytics, which tells me how many people visited and which pages they read. The analytics data is aggregated; I cannot use it to identify you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work.
Section 4
How it is used
Your email address is used to reply to you, and for nothing else. Log and analytics data is used to keep the site working and to decide what to write next. There is no mailing list, no advertising, and no profiling.
Section 5
Sharing
Your details are never sold, rented or passed on for marketing. The only third parties involved are the ones needed to run the site — the hosting provider, and Google Analytics — each of which processes data under its own terms. Information would only be disclosed further if the law required it.
Section 6
How long it is kept
Correspondence is kept as long as it is useful — often because a thread about an item resumes years later — and deleted on request. Published comments stay with their post until removed. Server logs and analytics are retained for the periods set by the hosting provider and Google.
Section 7
Your rights
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to info@philatelylife.com and it will be dealt with — there is not much to look through.
Section 8
Children
The site is open to anyone to read — stamp collecting often begins in childhood — but it is not directed at children, and information is not knowingly collected from them. If a child has sent something through the contact form, tell me and I will delete it.
Section 9
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the revision date at the head of the page changes with it. Anything you want to ask about privacy goes to info@philatelylife.com.
