The Government of Portuguese India issued the first set of Postcards in 1877, the Bhilhete Postal issue, featuring a design with a crown in blue and red. These postcards came in two denominations – ¼ Tanga and 1 Tanga. The ¼ Tanga postcard was printed in blue on a buff card, while the 1 Tanga card was printed in red on a greyish blue card.
