Portuguese India – Historical Men & Monuments
1946-48
A Portuguese Indian Government order, numbered 11371 and dated 31st May 1946, issued a new set of stamps dedicated to historical men and monuments of the territory. This was also the first occasion when Portuguese India issued a miniature sheet of the same set with the denomination of 1 Rupiah and 8 tangas. The stamps were designed by Alberto de Souza and lithographed at Litografia National, Porto. The printing was done on chalked surface paper with the perforation of11½
