Estado Português da India
Portuguese India – Final Issues (1960-62)
1960-62
The Portuguese Indian Government issued stamps between 1960 and 1962. However, the stamps issued in 1961 and 1962 never went into circulation as the Portuguese were expelled from India by then.
After the Indian military intervention in Goa, all the Portuguese Indian territories became a part of the Indian Republic. Sale of Portuguese India stamps ceased on 28th December 1961, thus ending the Portuguese Indian Postal Service.
