Queen Victoria Single Star Watermark

1892-1899

The 2 anna 6 pies stamps were issued in January 1892 in yellow-green colour. Its plate had continuous jubilee lines. in 1897, the colour was changed to pale blue-green. 1 rupee stamps were also issued, first in green-rose and later in green and aniline carmine. 3 pies stamps were issued in 1899. These came with the Queen’s portrait by Heinrich Von Angeli, an Austrian artist. 6 million copies of this stamp were printed.
