The Prague Astronomical Clock (Czech: Pražský orloj) was installed in 1410 CE on the Southern wall of the Old Town Hall of Prague, making it the third oldest astronomical clock in the world.
The clock represents the positions of the sun and the moon and various other astronomical details.
The astronomical dial has a background that represents the standing Earth and sky, and surrounding it operate four main moving components: the zodiacal ring, an outer rotating ring, an icon representing the Sun, and an icon representing the Moon.
Statues of various Catholic Saints stand on either side of the clock. The clock has moving sculptures, including the apostles and a skeleton that signifies death.
Czechoslovakia ceased to exist on 31/12/1992 and became two separate entities. The stamps of the former republic are now a relic.
